Nanny’s Cookies
Ingredients for cookies: *Makes about 12 dozen
6 cups flour
1 ½ cups sugar
4 tbs milk
1 lb. butter
2 eggs
3 tsp vanilla
Instructions for cookies:
1. In a medium bowl, cream your butter with a mixer or whisk and gradually add in your sugar and eggs.
2. Add in your flour while alternating milk and vanilla into your mixture in small splashes.
3. Once your dough is mixed, divide it into four equal segments and wrap each separately in wax paper to chill overnight.
4. The next day, utilize a rolling pin to roll your chilled dough out into a thin sheet and cut out using your favorite assorted Christmas cookie cutters.
5. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
6. Let your cookies fully cool before frosting and decorating to prevent your icing melting.
Ingredients for icing:
3 tbsp margarine or butter
1/4 cup milk
2 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Instructions for icing:
1. In a medium bowl, cream your margarine or butter with a mixer or a whisk.
2. Add in your sugar, milk, and vanilla in small splashes until your mixture is creamy.
3. Frost your cookies lightly with your icing. Have fun with it!
4. Add Christmas sprinkles as desired.
