Laundry 101: Quick Start Guide to your Bosch laundry machines
Getting started
Before using the washer, be sure to remove the 4 transportation bolts attached to it. Review your owner’s manual to learn how. These bolts hold the washer drum in place during transport. If you use the washer without removing the 4 bolts, there will be loud sound as the washer drum operates.
Before you wash your first load of laundry, run the Drum Clean cycle with no laundry inside. First, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of detergent to the chamber. Then run the Drum Clean cycle.
What type of laundry detergent should I use?
The best detergent for Bosch washers is a high-efficiency detergent. They create less suds and clean your clothing with less detergent. Simply follow the detergent directions to learn how much detergent to use.
How do I fix an oversudsing washing machine?
If your washer is oversudsing, simply add one dose of fabric softener and a half-gallon of water into the detergent chamber. The sudsing will decrease within minutes. Run one wash cycle when the current one has finished. Watch this video to see how.
Cleaning and Care
1. After each wash cycle
After using the washer and removing your clothing from it, wipe the rubber gasket dry with a small hand towel and leave the washer door and detergent drawer open so that any remaining water can evaporate.
2. Clean the dryer's heat exchanger
You should clean the heat exchanger once a month, depending on usage. Simply remove the heat exchanger from the bottom of the dryer (make sure it’s cool first), remove any lint and rinse under cool water. Reinstall it once it’s completely dry. Refer to your owner’s manual for additional instructions.
3. Clean the dryer's moisture sensor
Wipe the moisture sensor clean once a month, depending on usage. It measures how damp the laundry is and after long periods of time, the sensor may become covered by a fine layer of limescale or detergent residue. The stainless steel sensor is located next to the lint filter inside the dryer. Simply wipe it clean with a soft cloth and a bit of white vinegar. Only use white vinegar.
