Helpful Hint: Keep your sales receipt and your model number in an accessible place. An easy way to do this is to write your complete model number and FD number on the owner’s manual and store your receipt with it. If you call Bosch customer support, having this information readily available will help us assist you more quickly and effectively.
Washer
Before using the washer, be sure to remove the 4 transportation bolts attached to it. These bolts hold the washer drum in place during transport.
Now that the washer is installed in your home, it’s time to remove these bolts. Review your owner’s manual to learn how. If you use the washer without removing the 4 bolts, you’ll hear loud banging as the washer drum operates.
After using the washer and removing your clothing from it, wipe the rubber gasket dry with a small hand towel and leave the washer door and detergent drawer open so that any remaining water can evaporate.
If you live in a hard water area, use descaler once or twice a year to remove limescale and hardwater deposits.
Use washer cleaner every few months to remove residue from the washer drum.
Dryer
You should clean the heat exchanger once a month, depending on usage. Simply remove the heat exchanger from the bottom of the dryer (make sure it’s cool first), remove any lint and rinse under cool water. Refer to your owner’s manual for additional instructions.
