Maintaining your water filter
Using a water filter in your coffee machine is optional. However, water filters reduce impurities in your water and help make your coffee more flavorful.
The water symbol on your display will light up when it is time to change your water filter. We recommend changing the water filter at least every two months.
Contact our authorized parts distributor at the number below to purchase cleaners, filters and accessories. They will assist you with all your purchasing needs.

How to determine your water hardness
Knowing the hardness of your water helps your coffee machine determine how often it should be descaled.
If your unit comes with a water hardness test strip, briefly dip the test strip in fresh tap water and let drain. After a minute, read the strip using the table shown below. If you use a water softening system, select “Softening device” on your appliance. If your water hardness is higher than 21 °dH, we recommend using pre-filtered water in your water tank to reduce limescale deposits. To purchase our Bosch Coffee Machine Water Filter, find the SKU and link to our online accessories store above.
