Run your appliance’s cleaning and descaling program when the “calc’n Clean” or water droplet button lights up on your display.

Before beginning the program, empty your drip tray and coffee grounds container and clean your brewing unit and milk frother.

1. Press and hold the “calc’n Clean” or water droplet button for at least five seconds to begin. Then place a cleaning tablet into the shaft of your brewing unit and reinsert. DO NOT put descaling tablets or other products in the shaft of the brewing unit. If you are using a water filter in your coffee machine, remove it now.
2. Fill your empty water tank to the mark with lukewarm water and let a descaling tablet dissolve in it. Then reinsert the water tank and place a container that can hold approximately 33.8 oz (1L) under the dispensing nozzle.
3. Press the “calc’n Clean” or water droplet button when it begins flashing. The first half of the program will begin, taking about 20 minutes to clean and descale the coffee machine.
4. Empty both the container and drip tray and replace. Clean the water tank, fill it up to the max line with fresh, cold water, and replace. If you are using a water filter, reinsert it now.
5. Press the “calc’n Clean” or water droplet button when it begins flashing. The second half of the program will begin.
6. Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container and replace. Once again fill the water tank to the max line with fresh, cold water.
7. Press the “calc’n Clean” or water droplet button to rinse your coffee machine, taking about 2 minutes.
8. Empty the drip tray, clean, and reinsert.
